A chaotic, messy, portrait-drawing event series. In a vintage store.
The Events:
1. Speed Portrait Drawing, 9.5.25, 7-9pm
Less awkward than speed dating, and you can bring your Grandma without it being creepy! We will sit across from each other in pairs, drawing each other’s portraits. When the 5-minute timer goes off, it’s pencils down. Everyone rotates, and starts a new portrait with their new table-mate.
2. No Peeking Portrait Drawing, 10.3.25, 7-9pm
With our drawing papers concealed from our view, we will intuitively draw the person sitting across from us based on what we see…and what we sense...without looking down at what we’re actually drawing. Whether you are a seasoned portrait artist looking to challenge your skills, or a total amateur, we will play around with loosening the grip of perfectionism, and tapping into all of our senses to draw the person we see. Results may be accidentally hilarious, or deeply moving. Drawing in color is encouraged for this one!
3. Pass the Portrait, 11.14.25, 7-9pm
Ever wondered how a group of strangers REALLY sees you? Yikes! Could be scary, but could be…life changing? Hysterical? Really, really beautiful? At this event, we won’t just be swapping seats…we will be passing the portrait. We’ll sit in pairs across from each other, except when the 5-minute timer goes off, you leave your incomplete portrait for the next person to work on. In the end, we will have created a single community portrait of each person, worked on collaboratively by each participant.
