Nydens by Holbrook MCM vintage 50s men’s button up shirt with an open-weave, slubby, linen-like cotton fabric woven with a geometric, mid-century modern atomic shield pattern. Tagged size medium, probably fits more like a modern small. Check flat measurements before purchasing:
20”pit-to-pit, 29”length
Holbrook is an American shirt maker started in the mid-20th century known for high-quality, preppy, and Ivy League style dress shirts. The “Nydens” sub-line was a specific collection or retail line, dating to approximately late 1950s.
Coolest part?
There's a faint ink stamp on the front of the shirt towards the bottom hem that reads M2548 (see pics). This is an internal manufacturing code used to track factory production. M stands for Medium, and 2548 likely refers to things like the style number, fabric lot, factory pattern, manufacturing plant, etc. (Stamping sizes and codes directly onto the fabric was a standard practice in mid-century American factories).
